The Perfect Mac and Cheese

The ultimate comfort food!

Mac and Cheese is one of my favorite (and most requested) dishes to make. I make it at almost every family gathering and for my boyfriend at least once a month. Here are some tips for the perfect side dish.

1. Add cream cheese and hot sauce to your cheese mixture for creaminess and an extra kick.

2. Fry a little bit of garlic (onions and peppers if you want as well) in your butter before making a roux or adding cream. I learned this from a Haitian friend and it adds so much flavor!

3. Use eggs as a binder instead of a roux. I personally prefer the texture I get when I use eggs but this can also be used if you don’t have time to make a perfectly smooth roux.
