October marks the beginning of domestic violence awareness month.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

Physical abuse isn’t the only form of abuse, it also is emotional, and can look like

-insulting their partner

-isolating from friends and family

-threats of physical harm

If you have the time this month, look up ways to help your local women’s shelter in your community or continue to support survivors by believing their stories and being a safe space
