During our trip to Bangkok, we decided to dedicate a day to visiting the floating & railway market, and decided on a Klook day tour package. For approx. $50, here’s our 𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 and why 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐨 🫶🏼

Pickup from Siam (super convenient location!) 🤭

Reached the 𝙇𝙖𝙤 𝙏𝙪𝙠 𝙇𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩, and had ~1h free time to walk around the market and have lunch if we wanted. The tour guide recommended a famous noodle stand (𝙅𝙖𝙮 𝙈𝙪𝙖𝙮 𝙉𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙨) that tasted. DIVINE. 😍

According to the guide’s storytelling, she claimed the boss of the store participated and won so many cooking competitions that she ended up being banned from entering in the competitions again or something HAHAA. Idk how true it is but the noodles were sooo good and affordable. 🤌🏼🤌🏼

We also tried the thai milk tea, some coconut pancakes and coconut ice cream around the area.

We then boarded the boat for the floating market boat tour, and were brought around the floating stores. It was quite crowded that day so the ride was pretty bumpy, and we were cramped next to other boats very often. The floating stores were also rather aggressive in their hard-selling, they’d pull the boat and like not let go and all 🫣

After the tour, we were provided a complimentary coconut milk dessert which was pretty yummy, tasted a bit like Laoban beancurd with coconut. 🥥

We boarded the bus at around 1.30, and reached the 𝙈𝙖𝙚𝙠𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩 relatively quick. ☺️ We were told that the next passing train would be at 2.30pm, so in the mean time, we were recommended HiiG, a popular restaurant that offered direct views of the passing train. 🚂

Our guide recommended us their 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙥 and 𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙙. We also settled on 𝙩𝙤𝙢 𝙠𝙝𝙖 𝙜𝙖𝙞 - as recommended by the guide as well. We completed the meal with 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙮 𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚 and 𝙩𝙬𝙤 𝙨𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙨 (𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙮𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙚). ❤️‍🔥

Everything was sooo yummy, especially the squid and the tom kha gai. I usually HATE squid but this one was so yummy omfg. The sauce was also to die for. 😭😭😭

Midway through our meal, the train was scheduled to pass by so we left the restaurant for a bit to go spectate it HAHA. Nothing much but it was just another one of those touristy things!

We decided to walk around for a bit, and ended up walking towards the train station. A stationary train was there and we were allowed to walk in to take a look - so of course we did 👀

Along the railway tracks there were also a whole bunch of stores, selling everything and anything - souvenirs, clothes, even groceries & seafood that locals bought from. It was honestly quite a cool experience!

At 4pm, we boarded the bus again to go back. We were dropped off at Icon Siam - which was also a very convenient location.

Honestly, I went in without expectations bc I wasn’t extremely keen on the tour beforehand (it was something my other travel companions wanted to do), but I ended up liking it a lot - especially the food options there! 😊

For $𝟱𝟬+ (includes bus ride, boat ride & tour guide) I think it was pretty worth it - especially bc it would’ve been a hassle to visit those places yourself.

There are many different tours available on Klook and KKday - definitely one that’d fit your preferred itinerary. Just search “bangkok floating market” and a bunch should pop up! 😋
