Walked into Gotomall, and walked out >$200 emptier. Yes … I spent $200 at Goto Mall in Seoul, DURING WINTER - when half the things sold there can’t even be worn in Singapore. 🙂 Here’s how, why, and the fav items I bought:

First … 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐥?

It’s the largest underground mall in Seoul, located conveniently at the Express Bus Terminal station - Naver link here

While clothes are the main categories sold there, there are also a bunch of shops selling paintings, home decor, plants etc - as well as a bunch of food options! There’s a myriad of clothing styles offered there - just that they’re more suited towards Korea’s season at that point in time. Hence, when I went in late autumn, most of the clothes sold were winter clothing.

For my Korea trip, I was fully intending to purchase clothes to wear there. In particular, I wanted to get a nice coat plus some basics that I could wear in autumn/winter (prior to my trip, I had ZERO). I also had a Japan trip coming up so I figured I could wear them again there, so it technically wouldn’t be a one-time thing.

Some of the favourite things I bought:

𝟏. 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐨-𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐭

💰 Only 23,000 won?!?!

I was eyeing other pieces but they were superrrrr expensive, and I glad I held out and chanced upon this piece on clearance. As I bought some other stuff along with it, the store owner was also kind enough to give me a bit of discount of my total bill!

𝟐. 𝐏𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐠

💰 18,000 won

I got scammed for this bag bc I saw other places selling for cheaper after I bought it… 😕 Plus the material defo isn’t the best and stray threads started coming out a few days after I started using it. Nevertheless it’s still kinda cute and I use it quite frequently!

𝟑. 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨𝐩

💰 14,000 won

This was quite an expensive piece but I really liked it! As you can tell I’m a sucker for neutral colours and this piece was so so comfy! 🫶🏼

𝟒. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐚𝐱𝐢 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐫𝐭

💰 18,000 won

Now finally some ‘logical’ purchases … something that fits the Singapore weather. I love this!!!! ❤️ Have been wanting to try out skirts since I’m usually a pants gal and this piece was a great fit in my wardrobe imo! Wore this once in Korea and a lot more times in Singapore and so many people have complimented me when I wear the skirt 🥺

𝟓. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞

💰 16,000 won

I love the material of this - vvvv comfy and soft, and not too thick for the hot weather! It has a little poofy bell-sleeve detailing that I love and I’ve been wearing it v frequently in Singapore, both as an outerwear and as a top.

𝟔. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧-𝐮𝐩

💰 4,900 won

The material isn’t as good as the previous blouse but at 4900 won I don’t really have a lot of complaints. 🤑 An oversized piece that I love and wear regularly since it fits snuggly in my neutral wardrobe!

𝟕. 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬

💰 18,000 won

Kinda expensive but I like the asymmetrical button! Also didn’t have any white shorts in my wardrobe so I just bought it - the downside to this is that it requires ironing which I’m always too lazy to do so. 😴 Sometimes when my standards for myself are lower I’ll just wear it out and own the crumpled-ness 🙂, but otherwise on other days the crumpled-ness always makes me not wanna wear it out.

𝟖. 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬

💰 18,000 won

The only downside was that it’s quite expensive and it’s slightly tight for me (the stretchy band wasn’t very stretchy after all) - and upon checking the piece after I bought I realised it was made in China and not Korea so perhaps I could’ve found something better for cheaper on Taobao or Shein. 🥲

Of course, I also had a bunch of fails that didn’t fit me well, or were just downright impulse purchases. Do I regret spending so much? Not really tbh - my mantra whenever I’m overseas is to just ‘spend on whatever’ since I’m supposed to be on vacation (normal rules don’t apply! 🤪), and I did actually have a good time at Goto Mall!
