What you should stop saying to moms🙂

Things you should stop staying to moms and soon to be moms. It hurts.

“At least you have a village” I’m sorry you do not have one, but do not make me feel less than because I do. Do not make me feel bad for receiving help when I need it. Even if that’s my mother painting my toes at 9 months pregnant..

“At least you get to stay home” I didn’t have a choice. It was my job or my baby. I chose my baby. Not many people know that. Did we struggle and go without for 10 months when I stayed home? Absolutely! Did everyone pester me about being a SAHM..absolutely. I felt guilty.

“It’s all about the baby now” after going through PPA…this was the worst. My feelings and emotions were put on the back burner constantly because it was baby this baby that. Nobody made sure I WAS OKAY. During pregnancy I was anxious about everything. After was even worse.

“If you think that’s bad, I had it worse” well….our situations are different.

“You asked for this” I actually didn’t. Some people actually aren’t trying to have babies. Yes, we know what can happen, but I wasn’t physically trying. My world was turned upside down. I’m scared. I’m anxious.

“How can you be sad, you’re having a baby!” I’m sad because I feel like I’m not going to be a good mom. I’m sad because I can’t sleep, and get comfortable with my belly. I’m sad because money is tight. I’m sad because I feel unheard. I’m sad because I feel like a failure and my baby isn’t here yet.

Watch what you say….please. We all process pregnancy differently.
