A taste of NYC in Singapore

Discovered this restaurant through a press invitation to the newly launched space, Etta, just above within the same building. With a slightly different concept, Lucali BYGB offers diners a warm and cozy atmosphere with quieter corners for a private meal or wider tables for that long awaited group catch-up. The specially curated space features an open kitchen concept that offers an intimate dining experience enhanced with art pieces along the walls.

Pick your favourite wine from their extensive collection to pair with your choice of mains. Of course, I had to order their highly raved pizza. If you are a fan of cheese, you will enjoy this! Topped with buffalo mozzarella, mozzarella, parmesan and basil, simple as it may sound, the perfect balance of cheese and crust makes one crave for another piece. I especially like the crust – thin, crispy yet chewy. Despite the long conversations I had with my friends, the crust did not turn soggy and remained as flavourful as when it first arrived. Can I also mention that the size of the pizza is relatively huge and great for sharing (yay!).

Besides the pizza, I tried the Cacio e Pepe. Just perfect perfect perfect, no additional comments required. I can’t really describe it in words, you need to taste it yourself to fully understand. Often labelled as one of the simple yet challenging dish to master, it lives up to the saying “cheesy indulgence at its finest”.

All in all, I truly enjoyed the whole atmosphere. At times, it felt as though time slowed down for us. Sipping wine while indulging in heartfelt conversations.
