Cute date, went wrong (ended with puke 🙊🥹)

This is going to be one of the first #storytime that I will share on lemon8, that went wrong.

So my fiancé wanted to surprise me, while we were staying in a hotel and he told me to dress up, not knowing that he brought me to a Michelin star restaurant on a random evening.

📍 Restaurant Labyrinth. Raffles Ave., 02-23, Singapore 039802

📌LOCATION & AMBIANCE:

We reached there, and everything was pitch black, with a handful of 2-4 seater tables with white cloth draping over. And it was almost pin drop silent - no music. Honestly, awkward.

💸THE PRICING & MENU:

My fiancé tends to not check in advance when it comes to food, he doesn’t care, and just wants to be in the present, while im the opposite. There was a small card with printed menu and pricing - which we assumed for 2pax, but it was for ONE, (+/-$250)

Let me get to the best part; the entire menu was 99% seafood, and this man, NEVER eats seafood and basically disliked them. It is a surprise for him, for sure. Although, he decided to proceed and roll with it. (As we know, that Michelin star restaurants often don’t show their menus online.)

🦀THE STARTERS:

Chili crab ice cream - as weird as it sounds, it was surprisingly delicious!!!

🍍SNACK:

Satay & onigiri rice, pineapple drink - these were delicious, and will leave you wanting more

Fancy uni with caviar

Crispy pratas - with some sauce

🐟PLATES:

Raw cold fish - I hate anything raw, was worried that this will be nasty, and to my surprise, they tasted fresh.

Atas rojak - you kinda need to mash all the ingredients together to get the most out of the edible flowers

Local noodles (but everything made out of fish) - this was one of my favourite dish

Fish soup - the soup was thick and okay

🐓HERITAGE:

Atas chicken rice - you can honestly get a better tasting chicken rice elsewhere

🌼PALATE CLEANSER:

Edible flowers & fruits

Fruity ice cream - probably my fiancé’s favourite

🍞DESSERT:

Kaya toast with caviar - this was delicious, but as an ending dessert, was a big anti climax!

🙈HOW IT WENT WRONG:

That same night, about 2 hours after the dinner, my fiancé threw up everything that we consumed from the restaurant.

The reason why he puked was because he couldn’t get the idea out of his head, that it was his first time consuming large amount of seafoods in one sitting (and raw fishes too).

I felt terribly bad, but this man pulled through! 🥹🥹 This will forever be a story that we retell every time. And we both agreed to not go back there anymore.
