How to dress down TAILORED PANTS

Alright ladies, are we all in on the trouser trend yet? If not, I hope this look gets you on board! It’s fun, casual and comfortable! I’m taking the tailored trousers and dressing them down! Because while I love buying new things for my closet, I like to make sure I’m buying items I can get multiple uses out of! And back in the day I never would’ve thought trousers could be dressed down! They were solely for the office and that’s it! But the trends are changing and right now tailored trousers can be fun, casual and chic! Now how do we dress down tailored trousers, in other word dressy pants?! Follow the tips below!

1st Tips - Pair with sneakers

Sneakers are the shoes of our fashion era, and the easiest way to dress down a pair of dressy pants is to pair with sneakers! My preference is for fashion sneakers, but athletic sneakers can look great too! All depends on how you wanna style them! White sneakers are classic but feel free to wear any colour, with or without white soles! It instantly dresses everything down and makes it feel laid back and cool! They’re the best tips to make your tailored trousers look more casual and fun!

2nd Tips - Pair with casual tees/sweaters

Knitwear with a chunkier gauge or slouchier fit creates a more relaxed vibe! This can mean a shirt that’s tucked in like I did here with a graphic tee. Or going for something more fitted and body hugging! Whether it’s a fitted tank, tee or bodysuit, that would be perfect! Combining those types of tops with dressy pants with the casual footwear discussed above is an easy outfit formula to create a casual outfit! Because they most definitely do not work with dressy pants! 🤣

3rd Tips - Layer with statements jacket

Short non-athletic puffers look great with dressy pants, especially when the footwear is casually complementary! If puffers aren’t your thing, think casual toppers like moto, utility and aviator jackets in tailored and oversized fits! Like me, I paired it with my leather biker jacket! It instantly looks more on the edgy side and doesn’t look formal at all! So keep in mind to wear your jacket with dressy pants the next time you want to dress it down!

4th Tips - Pair with caps

The best way to also make your tailored pants look cool is to pair it with a cap! Yeap! Such a simple piece to dress down the overall outfit! And let’s be honest, by pairing it with a cap, you won’t look formal at all! It’s definitely giving more on the cool and chill vibes! So remember this simple accessory and wear it when you don’t wanna look too formal with dressy pants! Still looking cool and stylish!
