Honey garlic chicken - yet another chinese takeout style food that is sooo comforting and reminds me of home!!! This chicken is easy to prepare and doesn't take long...just ~15minutes and you can serve it over a bowl of rice!
Prep & cook time: 15 mins
Ingredients:
✧ 100g boneless chicken breast/thigh, cut into bite sized pieces or thinly sliced
✧ all-purpose flour
✧ 2 tablespoons olive oil
✧ 3 teaspoons/cloves garlic, minced
✧ salt and pepper to taste
✧ sliced green onions & sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
honey garlic sauce:
✧ 3 tablespoons honey
✧ 2 tablespoons soy sauce
✧ 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
✧ 1 tablespoon olive oil
✧ red pepper flakes (optional)
Steps:
1. In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with salt, pepper and flour. Mix to coat evenly.
2. Heat olive oil over med-high heat over a pan. Add the flour coated chicken and cook for about three minutes on each side or until no pink is visible
3. Mix the ingredients for the honey garlic sauce in a separate bowl and add it into the pan
4. Mix well to ensure chicken is coated well. Let simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
5. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions as desired (optional) and serve over rice!
