Gyudon has to be one of my fav comfort food ever!!! This rice bowl is easy to put together, doesn't take long and will definitely satisfy <33
Prep & cook time: 15 min
Ingredients (1 pax):
✧ beef slices
✧ 100ml dashi stock / water
✧ 2 TBsp mirin
✧ 2 TBsp soy sauce
✧ 1 tsp sugar
✧ 1/2 onion, sliced
✧ 1 stalk green onion (optional, for garnish)
✧ 1 egg (optional)
Steps:
1. Boil an egg (optional) for 6-7 minutes
2. Combine mirin, soy sauce and sugar together
3. Heat a pan with oil and saute the onion till fragrant
4. Add in dashi stock/water and the sauce in (2)
5. Let onion simmer for a few mins till slightly softened
6. Add in beef slices and let sit till cooked. Be careful not to overcook the beef~~
7. Serve with rice and garnish with sesame seeds/green onion (optional)!
Tip: slice the onion thinly so it softens quicker!
