Welcome back to styling tips with me, Fatihah :3 For today’s look, I’ll be telling you guys on how to style the 2000s denim on denim look. Before that, let us talk a bit on how denim on denim started.

Contrary to popular belief, the double denim style actually began to gain traction in the 1970s and 1980s. The 1980s double denim trend, popularized by celebrities like Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry and the Charlie's Angels, was recognized for its sequins and glitz. Men's double denim was also popular in the 1980s, and pop musician George Michael popularized the style while on tour in the latter half of the decade.

Let us get into the tutorial!

Step 1: Choose similar washes. choosing similar shades of denim can create a cohesive, unbroken look that will draw eyes up and down your entire outfit, elongating your silhouette.

Step 2: Add pops of colour. In my case, since my whole outfit is already denim, adding a bright coloured bag will make your outfit looks more popping.

Step 3: Accessorize. Since your all-denim look is a cool, neutral canvas, adding simple accessories can tie the look together. A watch, some jewelry, or a fun hair accessory can breathe life into a denim-on-denim outfit.

And there you go! You can now rock your denim on denim look.
