What I ate in Toronto 🇨🇦

My friends and I took a last minute trip to Toronto for New Year’s 2024 🎆. We didn’t really know what to expect but it was a fun weekend trip. We were literally there for 24 hours ⏳

The first stop was Uncle Tetsu’s Shop. We smelt the bakery before we even went inside 😋 The line was long but worth the wait. The Japanese sponge cheesecake 🍰was super soft it melted in our mouths. The cheese tarts came in different flavors: original, crème brûlée and matcha 🍵

We had a late lunch at The Zen which was a Chinese and Thai fusion halal restaurant. We ordered beef singapore noodles, tamarind fish, Guyanese chicken chow mein, and beef pad Thai. All four dishes were good 😋 but my favorite was the tamarind fish 10/10. We also had some mango lassi and thai iced teas 🧋

On our drive back home we picked up about a dozen cream buns from a Japanese bakery called Haciendo Cafe. They had so many direct flavored buns like matcha, azuki bean, chocolate, orange and whipped cream. They were pretty good but after a few buns we felt like we were just eating bread 🥖.

Overall, I liked all three places we ate at and I loved that downtown Toronto was heavily Asian influenced 😋
