Shopping tips for sustainable fashion 😉

Today i wanna share some tips for those who want to shop fashion sustainably 🛒

01. Think twice before check out

Just in case you’re going to regret your purchase, think twice before buying what you want 🙌🏻 You can ask yourself several questions like “am i going to wear it often?”, “is it versatile to wear for various occasions?”, and “will it stand the test of time?”.

02. Buy second hand

You can buy what you want from thrift store or vintage store. Buying used products will save resources to make and distribute it. At the same time, you can save money too 🤩

03. Buy from sustainable brand

Sustainable fashion reduces the impact on the environment and also mindful of the people who work to produce the garments. Put simply, the fashion is ethically made and environmentally friendly. The pieces are last longer too 🤍

Examples of sustainable brands in Indonesia are Sejauh Mata Memandang (clothing made of recycled textiles with animal-free testing), Pijakbumi (contemporary sneakers made of plant-derived and recycled materials), Kana Goods (natural-dyed indigo apparels with a Japanese twist), and Sukkha Citta (empowering local artisans through quality apparel).

04. Quality over quantity

If you wanna buy from a fast fashion store, go for quality instead of quantity. Buy pieces those have good quality and nice fitting even if they’re not so cheap. Since fashion trends are quick to move on, it’s better not to follow it and just go with your own style 😉

05. Bring your tote bag

Lastly, don’t forget to bring your own tote bag when you’re shopping. It will help reduce the uses of plastic and paper bags. You can carry a light tote bag that is easy to fold and keep in your go-to bag 👜
