Let’s talk about bride price in Africans culture

As African woman who have married outside of the cultural. I didn’t want my husband to pay the bridal price I don’t believe in it, when I told my mother that I didn’t want my husband to pay the bridal price she seemed disappointed saying that I should follow the tradition,

Well eventually he paid the bridal price. When they pay bridal price is a good way to thanking the bride parents for raising the daughter. That’s what I have heard #africanwedding

My sister she’s getting married and she don’t want her man to pay the bridal price and I agree with her because a lot of African men want to get married but they can’t because they have to pay $15 -20 thousands dollars. How will they live after marriage not only that when a man is get married he have to pay everything when I say everything I mean he have to pay for the venue and food including bridal price which it can cost around $50 to 70 thousands dollars.
