i may be addicted to taiwan photobooths ... 🙀

as a photobooth enthusiast, i was sooo happy when literally every street in taiwan was littered with photobooths of every kind! i took so many 4-cut pictures during my trip, so here's my 100% honest feedback and thoughts on the different photobooth brands🤞🏻

𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲𝟰𝗰𝘂𝘁 💗

📍yizhong night market (taichung)

they have multiple outlets all over taiwan as well. the price for the special frame was 400TWD (~$17SGD) for 4 strips, making it about $4SGD per strip!

𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀:

- HUGE store space with many adorable props

- has a dedicated space for you to curl/straighten your hair & fix your makeup

- special translucent christmas frames ⭐️⭐️⭐️

- has a self clicker just in case you don't want to wait for the in built timer

- able to retake shots within the time limit

𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀:

- a bit stuffy & no ventilation

𝗸𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝗽-𝘂𝗽 🐱

📍taroko mall arcade (taipei)

i'm not sure if this will be a long-term photobooth but it was just a small curtain booth in the middle of the arcade. this was 50TWD for 2 strips (~$2SGD)!

𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀:

- option to choose between 3 super cute frames

- so cheap!!!

- able to retake your shots

𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀:

- lack of privacy as the curtain can't be drawn fully

- camera angle was a bit too high for me 🥲

- not too good lighting

- need to stay still for 1-2secs after the timer

𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 🫧

📍shilin night market (taipei)

this is honestly my favourite one by far! it costed 300TWD (~$13SGD) for 4 strips, making it about $3 per strip!

𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀:

- HUGE rooms with soft toys for you to use as props

- many korean style uniforms you can change into

- has a 20 second timer for you to prepare your poses & angles before a 10 second timer for the shot

- able to retake shots

- professional korean style photoshoots are also available on level 1

- super adorable frames!!

𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀:

- soft toys may be a bit dirty as they're all thrown on the floor

𝗸𝗿𝟰𝗰𝘂𝘁 🎀

📍ximending (taipei, near ximen station)

if i'm not wrong, this is one of the more popular brands in taiwan because i see it in every corner of taipei that i go to 😆 like life4cut, they cost 400TWD (~$17SGD) for 4 strips!

𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘀:

- many adorable disney frames

- huge range of props to choose from

- able to retake shots

𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀:

- small cubicles 🥲 not recommended to take with more than 2 people or with people taller than 180cm

- has these weird beauty filter that made us look "fake"

- have to stay still for 1-2secs after the timer

- no dedicated space to hang your items

as you can tell, i'm kind of biased to some brands 🤭 if i had to rank them, it would be in this order:

1. palipali self photo studio

2. life4cut (only for their xmas frames!)

3. kuroro pop-up

4. kr4cut

after taking these photobooths, i feel like we're so shortchanged in singapore on both quality & prices 😭 there should definitely be more variety of photobooths in singapore since the craze is still high locally & internationally! let me know what you think of these photobooths if you've tried them ~ 💖
