My family and I went to the infamous Salem Massachusetts for my birthday this year and I’ve got a few tips for those who are traveling there for the first time🦇

Travel Guide

📍 Location 1: The Witch House

🗺️ Description: Built in 1640, it was the home of Jonathan Corwin who was one of the judges in the Salem Witch Trials.

💸 Price Range: $12 per person

👀 Tips: The tickets must be booked online starting in late September through October due to it being a very busy area around Halloween. It’s hard to find where the tickets are but if you go to their website and click Visiting in October, scroll down to where it’s says Tickets, then under where it’s says that the tickets will on sale for that day at 8am it’ll have a little place to click to book the tickets👍

📍Location 2: Allison’s House | Filming Location for Hocus Pocus

👀Tips: Right down the street from The Witch House is one of the many filming locations in Hocus Pocus. You can take pictures in front of the house and they have a little garden behind you can walk around in. Please remember these are people’s real homes so make sure you are very respectful when visiting.

📍Location 3: The Bewitched Statue

🧙‍♀️Description: To show appreciation for the tv show franchise the statue was build right in the middle of Salem, Ma. The first seven seasons was filmed mainly in The House of Seven Gables which is also located in Salem and you can visit and tour the house and grounds of the estate.

When traveling to Salem this time of year it will be very busy and it’s very hard to find parking if you are driving. I would recommend staying close to Salem and taking another way in other than driving, they have a train that’s available to take you right into Salem. We stayed in Peabody and it was not an easy area to navigate especially if you are not from the area. You have to pay for parking everywhere even at your hotel a lot of the times. If you do go, September was really nice and it wasn’t very busy at all. We got a parking spot everyday but you do pay for parking with these little kiosk. We learned that you must put in your license plate and how many hours you’ll be there (most of downtown only lets you do four hours at a time) and place that ticket on your dashboard before leaving. That’s all my tips so far, but if you travel there have fun it’s a really cool city to explore.
