no-contact is really important to actually detach from your ex and move on. relationships evoke the same neural chemicals as addiction, so there is literally a period of withdrawal that’s necessary. I know it’s scary to detach and it feels like you’re losing them. but going no contact to move on will actually give you the mental capacity to have a healthy friendship down the line.
