First day of August and Lughnasadh/Lammas

Yesterday and today are Lammas/Lughnasadh! Lughnasadh is the first of 3 harvest celebrations in the wheel of the year. I consider this and Mabon (the next Sabbat) to be the witch’s thanksgiving. It’s a time to celebrate the abundance you’ve had during the year and prepare for even more in the coming months.

It’s a great time to just be grateful for what you have and to enjoy the world around you. Where I am right now, we are deep in monsoon season. We are getting a ton of heavy rains and thunderstorms. My kids and I have been going outside to sit and watch the thunder go crazy, just like a fireworks show. It’s such a beautiful sight!

It’s also the first of the month, which means it’s time to do the first of the month rituals. I usually clean my living room as a way to get rid of any negative energies that entered the home, as well as clean my porch for the same reasons. This month I also did a cinnamon spell. This is the first month I did it, but I’ve heard from other witches that it works tremendously, so I’m excited!

This summer has been rough on me, so I’m ready for a reset. I have a lot more hope and energy this time! I love being able to celebrate the wheel of the year and just get more connected to the world around me, it’s definitely what I need after 2 months straight of disassociation 💀
