THIS BUGIS BAR SELLS PIZZA BY THE SLICE 🍕

It was negroni week last week (Sep 16-24)!! And many restaurants and bars took part worldwide 👀

This review will be a little bit different- in a #MyLemon8Diary format as I take you through my experience with Negroni Week!

This year’s drink-for-a-cause campaign was the largest yet, with over 90+ bars participating.

🍕 THE PLACE:

I dropped by Puffy Bois pizza and slices last Friday as my friend's +1 for dinner and of course, negronis!

Puffy Bois was originally a pop-up concept with various takeovers at restaurants— but it is now a private and vibey space near what was formerly termed Kampong Glam!

😰 FINDING IT:

When we reached Bali Lane we were completely lost— Google maps took us through a bunch of outdoor bars (didn’t help that it was raining heavily) and we navigated through the back alley past boarded up stores and found it near a rather questionable club with lots of scantily-dressed women calling out to us as we walked up into the small stairway.

I would have entirely missed it if not for the small neon sign by the alleyway.

At the top of the stairs you see the Puffy Bois sign and a cheeky message:

"don't be a douchebag and be good to your mother"

We got a very warm welcome there and the staff were all very friendly, but the place was absolutely packed. Thankfully we managed to get seats by the bar for a better experience!

Expect a very eclectic and intimate vibe- the place clearly has a strong personal touch from the owners of the place. Unlike other bars with ear-splitting music, I didn't have to raise my voice as much to talk to my friend, which I much preferred.

🍕 FOOD & BEVS:

Due to the crowd, we were served our drinks way before the pizza arrived. Due to the minimal menu and kitchen space, the whole food production took awhile and I waited 45mins before I got my pizza! 🥹

It was worth the wait though ❤️ The sourdough base is crispy at the sides and soft in the middle, and the pizza was perfect. The cheese, the herbs, the flavour- 10/10 😍🫶🏼

The margherita starts at $6/ slice, or $22 for the whole 4 slice pan. I would recommend minimum 1 pan per pax!

We also got the pepperoni ($7/$26).

Between waits, we got freshly baked sourdough bread topped with parmesan and pepper. Hot, soft, and crumbly- these are served with their cold cuts and make for excellent bar bites 🙏🏻❤️

Admittedly, red negronis are not my favourite drink- I much prefer white. Nonetheless; this was definitely a night to remember ☺️✨

Will definitely be back for their pizza AND bread. I’m still dreaming about it. Xoxo
