easy matcha recipe! w the viral marukyu koyamaen 🍵

here’s a simple matcha recipe with all the items used linked below!

it’s a pretty simple and fool-proof recipe and i just gauge the quantity by eyeing it (agar-agar uk…)

🍵 recipe and steps:

1. soak your bamboo whisk in hot/warm water to soften the bristles (this is an impt step so that your whisk wouldn’t break or tarnish too easily when you whisk your matcha)

2. sift about 2-3 scoops of your matcha with the bamboo scoop, approx 2 teaspoons. i would say the more you add the more flavourful it gets but for me 3 scoops works the best :D not sure abt the caffeine dose though :o

3. add about 3 times the water to your matcha powder - water shouldn’t be boiling hot, warm-lukewarm water is good!!

4. use the soaked bamboo whisk and circle it around the bowl combine the powder and water till it’s fully incorporated and whisk your matcha in a zig zag motion for about 40 seconds! (the whisk should touch the base a little)

5. once you’re done with that you can whisk the top part of your matcha for another 20 seconds

6. add your milk/oatmilk to your glass and finally pour the matcha in!!

i’ve watched too many matcha videos on tiktok and came up with this easy recipe but correct me if i’m wrong since it’s my own recipe inspired by lots of others’ :D
