am i still a chicken rice hater after this?

bet you’ve never seen a singaporean say they’re a chicken rice hater right LOL

okay anyways, since i didn’t like chicken rice, i wanted to see if this $25 chicken rice would change my mind. i also wanted to try it bc my mum said she had a $20+ chicken rice in a hotel over 20 years ago and it was good. well..

the chicken was boneless for starters, which i love. it’s also really plump and juicy. besides, i like how it’s mostly pure white chicken in the plate bc i absolutely hate when the chicken has like black parts. however, the chicken wasn’t very flavourful and tbh tasted like every other chicken rice i’ve ever eaten in my life. the soup thoo, that was good. and why was there so less cucumber, i love cucumber hdjsjsjdbf. okay but the amount of chicken is actually so generous, compared to some other places. and ngl the ambience here was so nice😮‍💨

overall: 7/10

the question, am i still a chicken rice hater after this? might have liked it a bit more after this but chicken rice still won’t be an meal option on other days. the cold chicken with warm rice still feels kinda weird AHAHA

🍗crispy salted egg chicken wing - $12

this was super crispy and the salted egg flavour was good.

overall: 8/10

🍳”orh jian” oyster omelette - $18

i didn’t know what the sauce the omelette was soaked in and took one big bite of it with the sauce and mannn was it spicy. it’s tabasco btw🥵 about the taste, it just tasted like a normal american omelette, doesn’t even taste like those hawker oyster omelettes. and the oysters weren’t fresh. def not worth the price

overall: 4/10

do take note, if u wanna visit this place, reservations are recommended !! we had to book a week in advance
