if you’ve been following the news, you’d know that they’re demolishing jcube in august so the rink will be gone💔 although the last day of operation for jcube is 6 aug, i read somewhere that the last day of operation for the rink is 31 july? i’m not that sure.. anywaysss
tickets cost $14 and skating boots cost $4 (total $18)
📍The Rink
2 Jurong East Central 1, #03-11 JCube, Singapore 609731
if you’ve never been there before, let me tell u what u gotta do before u go!
> you gotta book online thru their website before heading down (they don’t accept walk ins anymore). after you’re done paying on the website, if they didn’t send u a email for confirmation, don’t panic. just screenshot the booking reference number (it shld show up once you’ve made payment) and show them the ss of the page when u go there on the actual day.
• also tip: check the public skating calendar so u can see if the slot u want to book has a full rink for the public else u might end up with only 2/3 of the rink
> on the actual day, u gotta make payment for the skating boots at the counter. they don’t accept cash, only cashless methods!!
> for lockers, you gotta use 2 $1 coins. and the lockers are a one time use so if u wanna open and close agn, u gotta insert another 2 $1 coins. they have a machine that lets u exchange $2 notes for coins sooo prepare your coins/notes!!
• but if u dh any expensive belongings, u can just leave ur bags on the spectator seats infront of the rink
> their rental boots are made of plastic so they’re def gonna hurt if you’re not used to it. wear long socks to prevent blisters and do bring plasters incase u do get blisters!
> if u dk how to skate, they have skating aids for rental ($11/$15 depending on which u pick)
> it might be colder if you’re going on a weekday bc there’s gonna be lesser ppl so bring a jacket!
let me just say a word or a few sentences abt the rink LOL. i’ve been coming here to skate ever since i was 9🥲 this place literally watched me grow up omg. when my friends and i run out of places to go in sg, the rink is always a good option. the news of it closing really shattered my heart💔 even if they do build a new olympic size rink, it’s never gonna hit the same again😪
goodbye jcube, thank you for the past 9 years🤍
thanks for reading till the end<3
update: half a month left guys
