japan in sg?

i’ve always wanted to try something like this ever since i saw people on tiktok posting about it. i was so upset that i didn’t get to try it when i was in japan but singapore finally opened a restaurant that sold it!

📌review of the food!

📎miyazaki gyukatsu - $39 (not including rice)

this is basically the hot stone gyukatsu in the cover. the beef provided is A4/A5 wagyu beef, i’m no beef expert but according to their menu, it’s the highest quality of wagyu and it’s imported from miyazaki japan. i cooked mine to a well done doneness and it did still melt in my mouth. it was really tender. they also provide salt and wasabi which complements the beef well. it also tastes pretty similar to the kobe beef that i had in japan although it’s not the same type of beef lols. but it was really fatty and got too oily towards the end of my meal so i didn’t finish it and gave it to my family members instead. i feel like it would be nicer in smaller quantities ngl.

overall rating: 8/10 pretty good for a once in awhile meal

📎truffle fries - $7

surprisingly this had actual truffle on it but the fries were too oily and not crispy enough😕

📎yuzu rosu katsu set - $22 (not pictured)

i tried a piece of it and i feel it’s definitely one of the better tonkatsus i’ve had. it was tender and crispy.

overall rating: 9/10

although it’s good but i wouldn’t queue up for this shop just to eat this, i’d rather eat it from other places (might do a review of my fav tonkatsu place soon!)

📌queue

we arrived at this shop at around 4.50pm and there was already a line but we got in after like 30mins i think! when we got to the front of the line, the queue got even longer so do come earlier or come on a weekday to avoid a long queue!!

📌others

if you have a citibank card, u can get free truffle fries! just gotta tell them u have one when you’re ordering else it might be kinda troublesome at the counter. (idk when this is until tho)
