Hi lemon8 fam!

Any of you heading to Japan soon? I’m sharing my itinerary today so hopefully it helps anyone who’s planning/researching!☺️

This itinerary will be suitable if you’re planning to spend about 7-8 days in Japan! I covered 4 areas (tokyo, mt fuji, kyoto, osaka) and spent about 2 days per area which is honestly not enough for in depth exploring so this itinerary covers more breadth than depth!

Some tips:

-we did not buy the jr rail passes so on the first day after we arrived, we went to shinjuku station where there was a help center specially for tourists who needed help with booking train tickets! The staff there spoke english and were super experienced in helping you plan your routes and answering enquiries. I don’t think we would have been able to buy the tickets by ourselves from the vending machines to be honest!

-areas i would recommend to stay at within tokyo would be: shibuya, shinjuku, ginza

-make sure to buy an IC card (suica, icoca all works the same), these cards are used for trains and buses throughout Japan. It’s like our ezlink card!

-for mt fuji/lake kawaguchiko, the main form of public transportation is their internal buses which u can pay using IC card
