I Never Would’ve Thought to Make a Day Trip HERE

📍Kamakura ; Kanagawa

Kamakura isn’t exactly a super popular spot (compared to other hotspots in Japan ) but it is absolutely beautiful. It’s a coastal town and is one of the ancient capitals (along with Nara and Kyoto). Because of this, you’ll see a ton of super beautiful temples and shrine along the ocean. The best part? It’s not nearly as crowded as other tourist spots in Japan. Also they have some amazing restaurants and even some surf spots if you’re trying to do that!

These were some of my favorite places I got to check out.

- Hokokuji Temple And Bamboo Garden: it’s beautiful, calm, and serene. The best part is that you can drink at an outdoor tea house in the middle of the bamboo forest

-Tsurugaoka Hachimangu : this temple is beautiful, big, and bright!

-Kencho-ji : this is the oldest zen training monastery in Japan. As the oldest monastery in Japan, everything about this place is beautiful and ancient
