stop over consumption!

these photos show that i have been super guilty of over consumption myself. and looking back i see how absolutely ridiculous i was for purchasing most of the things i did.

as you can see from the examples above, most of the clothes i used to buy wasn’t because i genuinely liked what i was buying. but more so because of the trends or photo opportunities. i remember about a year ago i started learning more about what over consumption was and saw how i had been playing a role.

after that i decided i to try my best to stop or at least slow down how much i was purchasing. although i don’t 100% purchase only second hand, (so i guess the title is a little misleading) i do however try to only purchase my clothes second hand.

here are just a few of the benefits i have found:

- the amount of money i have been able to save is tremendous!

- i am able to talk myself out of purchasing things because for me it doesn’t feel right purchasing from a huge corporate store that probably doesn’t pay/treat their employees properly

- i am able to limit clutter from clothing pieces i know i won’t wear

- i only purchase things i know i will keep/wear for a long time
