My favorite Western books

This definitely isn’t all of my favorite western books by any means but these are some pretty impactful ones I’ve ready over the years.

“It’s not about the horse” is about Wyatt Web’s desire to start an EAT [equine assisted therapy] program, he went through it and wanted to help people get through their own walls that they’ve built up. If you’re interested 10/10 read because it gives two different perspectives!

“All the pretty horses” is about the last of the long line of Texas ranchers. This is also about a kid who sets off for Mexico in a semi humors, idyllic adventure where as it’s stated “debts are paid in blood” makes you reminisce on the old days!!

“Western Horse Behavior & Training” is the only really in depth book I’ve found about how to properly train for a sound minded horse. It also teaches you what most people would rather keep to themselves. This has been a pretty eye opening read [a little dry honestly]

Seabiscut

Autobiography of the race horse Seabiscut. Will 100% make you tear up and is impossible to put down. Definitely my top 3.
