Hey 🍋8 :)
Today we are talking about caffeine… I mostly just drink coffee, but this post is for everything— tea, energy drinks, etc. I recently went on a drastic “caffeine cut”, where I bumped down my daily consumption from approximately 800mg to 200mg. I feel like this summer is the perfect time to do this since the days are a little bit lower-stakes than during the school year (for my student girlies).
Anyway—cutting my coffee intake was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Seriously, it has been a bigger deal than going to yoga😅. For the first time in years, my energy levels are starting to become predictable and consistent… no more feeling like a zombie randomly at 3:00pm, then being wired by 3:45.
I did a lot of research before making the big cut, so I decided to share some of that info above!
Lol, I know it sounds cliche, but the first step to getting better is admitting you have a problem😂. It took me waaayyyy to long to acknowledge that😅. Step 2 is doing a lot of research as to WHY it’s so important. I can’t stress this enough, because you will need some cold hard facts to hold onto when the cravings kick in.
Wishing you all the best of luck with your caffeine journeys! ❤️
Let me know if you’ve ever made a big cut or gone full cold turkey🥶 🦃!
