If you aren't a bodybuilder or working with a coach on a meal plan...DO! And here's why.
I like to keep a decent balance in what I eat without going overboard in either direction. Like, restricting too much and eating 3 servings of Cinnamon Toast Crunch because I didn't let myself have the cookie I wanted. Or overindulging in the fun foods and feeling like I'm dragging the next few days. Keeping the 80/20 rule or sometimes making it 90/10 makes this a sustainable habit for me. That's how you keep this fitness journey going long term. Healthy. Sustainable. Habits.
So here's a little what I eat in a day while keeping the balance.
Meal 1:
- Peanut butter toast with banana and honey drizzle
- 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg
Meal 2:
- 5oz Blackened(Cajun) Salmon
- Rice
- Cucumber
"Free Meal" aka having dinner with a friend I don't get to see often.
- BJ's Brewhouse Pizookie(literally SO good)
- *not pictured* BBQ burger and some fries
Meal 3:
- Lean ground beef
- Shredded Lettuce
- G Huges Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce
Hope this gives you some inspo and is a good reminder that yes, food is fuel but you can enjoy the fun foods in moderation without falling completely off track to your goals.
