2D1N itinerary plan to Mt Buller in Melbourne ❄️

I can’t believe I didn’t know there’s actually snow in Melbourne until I started researching about it before my trip lol. I must say one of the highlight of the trip is definitely the Airbnb we booked 🥹 (link below) it’s literally cottage core with the wooden house, fireplace and just overall super cozy vibes ~

Day 1:

We drove to our airbnb from Clayton (my relatives home) and it was a 3-4 hour drive cuz we stopped by a small town for lunch, so we reached there at around 3pm. I love seeing the farm animals just roaming and eating grass, chilling since we passed by a lot of farmland along the way 😍 also Australia forests are super pretty too?? Like the trees are super tall and straight. Anyways we didn’t do much for day 1 cuz we were kinda tired from the drive so we just started the fire (new experience 🥹), ate home cooked dinner and played mahjong lmao 🤣

Day 2:

From our Airbnb to Mt Buller, it’s about a 15 mins drive which is pretty near by! Some tips: prepare $6 for entrance fee during peak season and go in early like around 9am cuz it gets crowded afterwards 💀 luckily we were one of the first few people so traffic was quite smooth~

The first thing we did was to take the shuttle bus to town area and buy our toboggan park pass. It’s such a good deal (?!) cuz we can go to both ski sled areas unlimited number of times and it’s just $15 🫶🏻 but I must warn y’all, it gets pretty tiring cuz you need to climb with the sled to the top of the hill and it is sooo slippery with the ice…. Me and my mum fell like two times 😭 we initially wanted to go to the ski class but it turns out to be around $255 - $170 for ski class (2hrs) and $85 for ski equipment rental.

Ok but the thing that shocked me was the ski lift pass price… it’s $42 for an adult for just ONE round trip 💀 but tbf the view was really nice and it was a comfortable trip up, definitely don’t feel unsafe riding it hahaha 🤣

We had our late lunch back at our Airbnb and then started packing up for our journey back to Melbourne, cuz the sun sets quite early during winter around 5pm it’s almost dark 🤨 if I have to give one last tip, bring your own food to cook cuz there’s literally NO restaurants in our Airbnb vicinity and the nearest town (Mansfield) is about 30 mins drive away 🙏
