Job Offer declined

So I got offered an admin position at a company thru call. I gave my one month notice to my current employer, and my last day was yesterday (6/9). This company did not offer me an offer letter, which had me having second thoughts. Just to be sure, last week I messaged them to confirm with them and asked what time should I come into work and they replied back that I should come at 8am. Yesterday evening, the staff messaged me that their manager decided not to move forward with my application (mind that I was supposed to join this Monday (9/9)). The excuse they gave me was that the staff that gave their resignation retracted back, so the manager counter offer since this person is an old staff. There was a one month gap and they tell me this now and that to at the very last minute.

I have resigned my current work because of this, and now I'm jobless. I can't ask my previous employer for my job back as they have already found a replacement😔 Im not the type to bring my problem to any platform, but this has affected my mentally. Need advice. Can I do anything regarding this ?
