Back with more classics I love! I think the key to *liking* the classics is to read them again outside of school, free from the pressure. Pick them up like you would any other book and don’t worry that you’re going to be quizzed on what some random side character said. It’s wildly more enjoyable.
One book I have such a greater appreciation for is THE SCARLET LETTER. Man, this book is good. I’ll be honest, I enjoyed it the first time around, but I could really savor it the second time and this a love story if there ever was one.
It’s short, but it packs a punch, THE CATCHER IN THE RYE. Holden Caulfield is a bit annoying, yes. But he’s just lonely and grieving and young. This book was so much more emotional the second time around. And I’m not being phony.
I have some THOUGHTS about LITTLE WOMEN, so many that I think I need to make my own post about it, but nevertheless, this classic is definitely worth reading. There’s no better sisterhood story.
