Going to the Gym With Hubs -Expectation vs Reality

Anyone else have something they do with their husband/partner that just never plays out the way they want?

For me it’s the gym. As a personal trainer I have dreams of us being “that” couple that goes to the gym together 5 days a week, does the same workout, and that my husband lets me be his trainer. I imagine filming choreographed workout videos and him insisting on selfies.

In reality, that’s a terrible plan. We have different schedules, different goals, and it's nice to go to the gym for some alone time. Plus the last thing he needs is me bossing him around in yet another aspect of his life.

Our reality is we go to the gym maybe 1-2x a week together and do our own thing while we're there. If I’m being honest, it’s a huge win for me and a nice balance of doing something together while still pursuing our own goals.

But a girl can dream, right?
