I recently found out I have prediabetes. my doctor told me that I need to start changing the way I eat. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I do love a good bagel 🥯 😋 which I think is how I became a prediabetic in the first place.

if you didn't know your body turns carbs into glucose (sugar) so essentially eating a lot of carbs is the same as eating sugar.

the key is to increase ⬆️ protein and fiber, and vegetable intake and decrease ⬇️ carb and sugar intake.

I'm still learning but here's what I had today:

🍽️ breakfast: keto friendly toast (instead of a bagel), cherry tomatoes (for vegetable intake), & hard boiled eggs (for protein)

🍽️ lunch: i was out and didn't get myself anything (bad idea cuz I was starving)

🍽️ dinner: chick-fil-a Deluxe chicken sandwich, large fry & cookies n creme shake

Because I didn't eat lunch by the time I got home I was absolutely starving and got into a funk. I have a hard time cooking when I'm hungry. While I didn't make all the best food choices the ✨ win ✨ for today was the fact that I had a pretty balanced breakfast!

I was almost not going to post this cuz it wasn't perfect. but ya know not every day is perfect and so I'm learning to take the small wins whenever and wherever I can. ☺️

also I know this isn't 💯 what I should be eating as a prediabetic but it's a process.
