A Day In The Dunes

The Great Sand Dunes are located in Alamosa, Colorado.

They are a bit off the beaten path, but worth taking a visit to if you are in the area.

The Great Sand Dunes are a National Park, so it’s about a $30 entrance fee, unless you are a park pass holder.

When you arrive you are greeted by towering mountains of sand, and when you enter the park you truly feel as if you may be on the moon.

The park offers sand boarding which is such a fun experience, or you can also hike in the dunes to your heart's desire.

The park is kind of in an odd location, so it is more of a stopover destination, and in my opinion, only something you need a day for. I personally wouldn’t suggest taking a trip just to experience them, but if you are headed that way, I say GO FOR IT!
