If you’re doing everything alone,

Then you deserve more. I took a flight out to Vegas with my best friend. While there, I muted my boyfriends texts, and calls. Why? Because after years of being together, everything was predictable by this point. I knew the overload of texts and calls were coming. The name calling. The guilt tripping. The arguing. Because I was too far away for him to gain control. For 5 days, I laughed, danced, explored, and finally felt what it was like to “delete” him from my life. And, i didn’t feel sad.

When i got home, I told him to get out. Two kids, 5 years, and a whole lot of tears later. I was finally done. It’s been 1 year since that day, and at 31 years old, single, with 2 kids and 3 jobs; I’ve never looked, or felt any better than I do right now. I found myself, I found my confidence, I lost weight, I smile more, I stress less. And I’ve learned what a relationship should and shouldn’t be.

Big life changes can be scary, but I believe they seem so scary, and so impossible because life is trying to teach you something. It’s trying to teach you that you are capable of all things brought to you. Trust yourself. Love yourself. And choose yourself,
