White Sands National Park

White Sands is such a unique national park! It’s located in Alamogordo, New Mexico. The white sand is actually gypsum which is a mineral that comes from the mountains when it rains/ floods. 🌧️

The entrance fee is $25 per car which is good for a week but I got in for free with my national Park annual pass.

The most popular activity here is to go sledding on the sand dunes (just make sure to stay away from the road). You can also go camping and hiking. 🥾⛺️

I visited late in the day so I just found a trail to explore for a little bit. I really wish I had more time because it was so beautiful but it was also 90 degrees out 😅

Make sure to bring plenty of water because there’s no water stations once you pass the visitor center at the entrance!!!
