study tips for textbook studying

i have to use a textbook for one of my classes this semester but i’ve never really learned from one during college. usually lecture and practice problems are enough for me.

here’s what i try to do

- divide pages of each chapter into a a couple days of reading (ex, 4 pages a day for ch 3)

-take notes after reading each paragraph

-review what you learned after you finish notes

-review the day after

-review, cover parts of your text and try to actively recall it

-make mnemonics or stories for any key terms or processes to help you remember
