Best Tips For a Good School Year 🍋

Let me tell you, college and medical school are a rollercoaster ride! I've definitely had my share of highs and lows over the years. But I've picked up some tips along the way that really helped me stay motivated, balanced, and successful in my studies.

First up, create a study sanctuary! For me, that's my desk with a fuzzy blanket and chill lo-fi beats playing. Make your space somewhere that gets you excited to study. Little personal touches like photos, quotes, or your fave snacks help too. When your environment feels just right, your brain is primed for productivity!

This one may sound cheesy, but stay curious! Don't just memorize facts and definitions from textbooks and call it a day. Go beyond and explore topics that fascinate you through TED talks, medical journals, podcasts...knowledge is power so feed your curiosity!

Speaking of power, don't underestimate your support squad. Talking through academic challenges or celebrating wins with friends, fam, and mentors kept me going on the toughest days. Find your people and lean on 'em!

Pay attention to when you really get in the zone studying. Morning, evening, late night? Sync your sessions to your natural rhythm and energy levels. I'm most productive with a fresh morning brain, personally.

And last but not least, work-life balance! Don't become a study hermit. Make time for fun with friends, family dinners, seeing movies, hitting the gym, whatever fills your cup. You'll study better when you're feeling balanced and recharged.
