We adopted a senior cat, here is what we learned:

We adopted our sweet Gracie girl in December of 2022, she was 8 when we adopted her and we didn’t have much background. We found her from an instagram add of a shelter promoting their senior babies. I had wanted a cat for a year at this point and after some convincing I convinced my parents to make the 2 hour drive to meet her and possibly adopt her. When we met her she immediately came up to me and laid on my lap. It was perfect. While that happened my parents signed the paper work and we took her home! We didn’t have any medical background (other than shot records) and no previous home background (other than that her previous owner had dementia). Gracie had grown SO MUCH over the last year and a half, she now lets us walk near her, has a routine that we must follow (per her orders), and so much more! If you are considering adopting a senior animal definitely go for it! Because we would not recommend anything different.
