BUSES > GRAB in BKK?! 🚍

Hi zesties! 🍋

I’m sure everyone knows that BKK’s traffic situation is well-known to be quite bad, especially during peak hours! 🫠

So…it all began with my 5-person friend group ending our shopping spree at Big C Supermarket on a Friday night, we tried booking a 6-seater grab and even decided to split and book 2 of the 4-seater cars. Unfortunately, even after waiting for quite some time we either:

1. Could not get a grab

2. Our grab was stuck in the same place due to the heavy traffic jam

We did a lot of walking and shopping that day so we were already quite shagged out, the long wait for a private hire car was just not it. However, we also did not want to splurge on overpriced tuk-tuk just for the experience (fyi, it was more than double the price on Grab…)

That’s when we decided to try out the local public buses in BKK, but it was our first time taking it so we were quite lost on how the entire system works - fortunately! the locals on the bus were quite friendly and explained it to us ☺️

Hence, here’s a mini guide on what I’ve learnt taking the public buses there (at least from what I experienced), and hope that it helps anyone who wishes to have an alternative transport to beat the traffic situation in BKK~
