Hello everyone! 🍋✨

Here's a story about my experience kena lay off by my previous company.

i was one of the pioneer employees for the startup company that I joined in 2017. Right after finishing my diploma, I started working with this company.

At first, there were not too many employees, after 6 months, they started to recruit more and more employees as they grow bigger.

My position that time was administrator. As they recruited another staff for admin, I became senior admin. I did the work as usual. And in the end of the year of 2019 as the business wasn't making money, they had to lower the budget to pay employees salaries, they started to lay off some employees and keep some. I was the affected one. And they gave me a very short notice? How shocking!

Truth to be told, it was a very very shocking news to me as I didn't expect that this was going to happen to me. I didn't have any extra income, my emergency savings were not enough to cover my commitments. I cried when I received the news.

How I deal with it? Here's how..

1. Cry first, let everything out.

2. Try to be calm after crying and start planning how to handle my financial

3. Demand for a compensation from my company due to the very short notice

4. Look for any job vacancies that suit my interests

5. Ask around for any job opportunities

6. Be patient

If you kena layoff, please demand for the compensation. I got mine and they paid me 2 months salaries. So grateful, at least the compensated me for this. 🤲🏼

And also, I guess I was lucky enough to get new offer on the same day I was terminated. I have been offered by my superior since his father own a management company, I was offered the same position but different working environment in different field. I have been working with them for 3 years plus and so happy with this company. 😆

Thank you for reading my story. 🫶🏼
