Let's read my review on The Cousins by Karen M. McManus.

I've finished reading The Cousins by Karen M. McManus. To be honest, maybe I put too high expectations for The Cousins and still cannot beat One of Us Is Lying.

We have three characters, Milly, Aubrey and Jonah. They three received letters from their grandmother, Mildred Story. They have never met their grandmother and they also have never met each other. Their parents forced them to accept the invitation and to go to the Gull Cover resort, to get to know their grandmother but they already planned for their summers.

The characters development are missing but they are still entertaining. Milly is smart, lovely and a little bit shy. Aubrey is stereotypical and an amazing swimmer. Jonah somehow is disrespectful and always being a jerk.

I didn't see any tensions anywhere. The twist wasn't mind blowing like how the author usually did. I was a little disappointed. The ending was interesting to me but not like what I hoped for. If you prefer a relaxed kind of mystery book or if you like We Were Liars, then this book is for you.
