annyeong zesties 🙂

NO winter trip is complete w/o skiing (at least for my fam) && this year, we headed off to yongpyong to ski! we decided to stay at alpensia as the hotels there were newer (holiday inn RESORT & intercontinental) && it was only a short bus ride to yongpyong.

we initially had plans to jus ski in yongpyong all three days because it is much bigger (one of the biggest in kr!! & olympics were held thr too 😳) but upon arriving, we decided to ski in alpensia for two days and yongpyong for one day. reason being:

- there was sm less people in alpensia

- we literally stayed right outside alpensia so it was more convi (esp the last day, cuz our bus only came at 6pm so we skiied before going back)

but yongpyong no doubt was def prettier!! imo, alpensia was great in that theres not much ppl && very beginner friendly (which was why i decided to learn snowboarding). yongpyong had slopes that were beginner friendly too, && i think the food there was better too!! there was sm more options as well.

from alpensia, theres a free shuttle bus that goes to yongpyong and jinbu station (if u r taking train to and fro seoul) i attached a pic of the bus schedule at the back. but do note the ones highlighted in orange are timings that are run only frm fridays-sundays! if not, u can take a taxi to yongpyong (~15,000 won)

both resorts dont have package deals, and u can only purchase the lift passes & rental equipments on the day itself. u can head over to mona yongpyong’s website to get tickets at a discounted price if u r a foreigner! but note that tickets must be bought two days before on the website.

dragon valley restaurant is a must go in yongpyong tho, both the views AND THE FOOD was crazy good. u can take gondola to and fro.

its a 2hr ride from seoul, and u can take train to jinbu stn, then shuttle bus frm thr. but if u have a lot of luggage, i’ll reccomend js taking a shuttle bus which u can book on klook for only $50/pax for RETURN trip ($20++ if only one way) but imo muchmuch more worth as u dont hv to worry and dont need to carry ur luggages arnd. they have drop off and pick up points near hotels like lotte city myeongdong, sotetsu dongdaemun and more so u may wanna book these hotels for more convenience!

a downside is that the buses stop at the welcome centre which is much nearer to holiday inn suites & intercontinental, and abt 5mins walk from holiday inn resort. if ur bus has less ppl, they may drop u off infront of the resort, but when u return, u will have to carry all ur luggages back to the welcome centee 😭😭 but ok la it wasn’t that bad

oh & do note that i went arnd 26-29feb which is prob why there’s not much ppl anym! but i loved the weather sm it was a perfect weather to ski/snowboard

also u can use ‘ellytravels’ for 5% off any activity on klook w a min spend $50!! it saved me soooo much on my trip in seoul.

comment down below if u hv any qns, and i will try my best to answer them:)
