After a very disappointing breakfast at The Grounds of the City (I have a post about it if you want to check it out), we made a trip to the Sydney Fish Market & boy was it a good decision. First of all, the FOOD here is FRESH & GORGEOUS. Just look at those sushi tacos & sushi bagels 😭😭😭even the prawns & lobster rolls looked like they came straight out of a fairytale 😥😥 There were definitely some misses but still LOTS of GOODIES 🫠

Here was what I got ~

* Mornay Lobster (~AUD23)

- essentially a cream cheese lobster - get it from the first store !! fresh & HUGE. Don’t get the butter garlic lobster tail though !! I tried one from the last store at the end but it was tough & dry.. not sure about the other stores though. Another very popular one was a freshly cooked lobster (cooked on the spot!!) w special noodles that looked really good & many got them but we didn’t as we were too full

* Lobster roll (AUD18)

- from Aburi Bar!! Doesn’t look as pretty as the other one but istg it is DELICIOUS & they give HUGE chunks of lobster - only $18 !! I didn’t try the one w caviar (which is drop dead gorgeous istg) but I’m p sure it’ll taste just as good as it looks too!!

* Fresh Oysters

- for the oyster lovers. When I say it’s fresh, I mean it’s FRESH fresh.

* Aburi Scallop (or Aburi salmon & scallop) (AUD12 for 3)

- honestly, do I need to say anything more.. just look at the picture. Scallop was DELISH (not the dry & tough one ok) & everything all just went so well together.

* Soft shell crab - the one from the last store. The CRUNCHIEST soft shell crab ever w ACTUAL crab meat 😭😭😭 just get it.

* Salmon Sashimi

- honestly what can go wrong.. get the pre-cut ones !! you can get them to cut it on the spot for you & it’s much cheaper too

another tip - invest in the $7.99 caviar. This was my first time trying it and it tasted just like fish roes, but salty ones. Tbvh I don’t think it does anything when paired with other food, but it looks good so… honestly it’s just $8 and you can literally pair it w anything - prawn, oysters, scallops, and I heard they even eat it w bread !!

I’ve also heard that the prawns were good and here I tried the King Prawns ! Tbvh it’s just.. prawns lor.. it’s big but not as juicy as i though it was.. but texture was js nice !! you can get them if you want to HAHAHA
