should i be a preschool teacher ⁉️

have you had any thoughts on being a preschool teacher? or maybe you want to try something new but not know what to do? let me share you some qualities a preschool teacher should have!

(ps. only take this as a small checklist)

1️⃣ patience

as you will be working with children, patience is key 🔑! children will get on nerves, intentionally and unintentionally. "the younger they are the more patience you'll need", thats not true. in fact i feel u'll need more patience when they get older HAHAHA. i do agree that you're patience do increase as you work with children, but be sure that you still have that "baseline" of patience to start off with.

2️⃣ quick on your feet

accidents happen a lot in class regardless of age. u gotta know your protocol, know what to do next. not only accidents but honestly anything you do you gotta be fast before the kiddos start to unintentionally "mess up" your routine.

3️⃣ creative

being a preschool teacher requires a lot of creativity! children learn best with hands on activities thus a lot of time we will be doing arts-n-crafts and making artefacts for the kids! during special events (cny, hari raya etc), we will be making mood boards and/or decorations to deco the school.

4️⃣ hygienic

kids are aLways sick, the younger they are the longer they will be sick. hygiene is really important! not only towards the kiddos but to yourself as well. depends on your school, some requires you to clean up and organise your classroom once a month. its also to prevent yourself from getting sick, its really easy to get sick in preschools.

5️⃣ love children

of courseee you need to love children! you'll be working with children 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. if you don't love them, you won't even be able to get through the first hour 🤣.
