Welcome to my FOOKKIN review

Wazoo, did you see what I did with the title. I CANT HELP IT LOL. Finally got the chance to head down to Fook Kin to try out their highly raved food and boy was I NOT let down.

1) Vegetable curry - pretty good and thick curry, veggies were well cooked and super soft but a tad too salty after having many mouths

2) Meat platter - charsiew and roast pork platter with mustard and sweet sauce dip, the meat cuts were bordering on too fatty but overall I really enjoyed the meats on this platter.

3) Roasted duck (1/2 lower) - had a choice of 2 sauces, dan gui and plum sauce. We opted for the dan gui sauce and did not regret! The sauce is very herbal-y so if you’re just not a fan of herbal sauce, opt for the plum sauce. The duck was so juicy and tender?!

4) soy milk - i really liked the soy milk here LOL, you can even choose if you want sugar in yours

5) soda - not pictured but my friends had and it’s quite nice if you like soda

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here and I foresee families who enjoy a good Chinese meal with loads of meat having a great time dining here. The restaurants playlist was filled with great Chinese songs which definitely fit their cuisine and aesthetics choice. I only have a few tiny complaints which is that the toilet is kinda 👎 and my food choices made the meal feel overly salty 🫣.

If you’re visiting I deffo recommend you to order something less salty like stir fry veggies (NOT THE ONE IN CURRY, curry was kinda salty) to accompany the meats (a must order imo)!

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:

Space: 3.5/5 (docked many points for toilet I’m sorry 😣)

Drinks: 3.75/5 (nothing outstanding but decent drinks available)

Food: 4/5 (Really good meats albeit salty)

Price: ~$35/pax

Accessibility: Need to walk a little from Somerset MRT, slightly under 10mins walk. Rain would be a problem as majority of the walk is unsheltered 😣
