How to Protect Your Skin

As a dermatology NP, I recommend sunscreen all day long to my patients - but sunscreen is just way to protect your skin. There are other sun protective behaviors that are just as important to utilize in your life to better protect your skin from skin cancer and the signs of premature aging.

Some of the methods and products I recommend:

☀️ Hats: Choose wide-brimmed hats whenever possible to protect your face, ears, scalp, and neck

☀️ Sun protective clothing: Look for UPF 50 - brands like Coolibar & Solbari have good options

☀️ Sunglasses: Look for 100% UVA/UVB protection to protect your eyes and eyelids

☀️Seeking shade & avoiding direct exposure from 10-2 whenever possible

☀️ Supplement: Heliocare supplements can help boost your body’s natural protection from UV rays - just take 30-60 minutes prior to sun exposure
