how to make your perm LAST? 😍 my permcare tips!

as someone who loves perming my hair, i need to find ways to make sure my curls last as long as they can so i don’t have to 1. spend more money on perming it again 2. risk damaging my hair from perming so often 😪 this perm was done at the start of june and as you can see from the video, the curls have lasted for 5 months and they still look new! tips & product links below 👇

1. to wake up with bouncier-looking curls:

i found that sleeping with slightly damp hair helps! i usually go to bed 😴 with my hair 30% damp 💦and 70% dry, especially if i want nicer curls the next day for a special occasion, etc. but since we all have different hair types, it’s worth experimenting and taking note to see what works for you!

2. curly shampoo & conditioner:

• i use Bioken Enfanti Curly Shampoo and All Hair Types Conditoner

• enhances the curls and provides hydration to eliminate frizz and increase elasticity

• a high-grade conditioner should also be used to detangle the curls

• i like this brand because of the prime ingredients such as aloe vera, calendula, shea butter and wheat protein

3. NEVER blow-dry your perm!

• best maintenance for permed hair is always to air dry 💨

• blow drying will damage your permed hair because of the heat, blow the curls out of shape and lead to frizz & split ends 😡

• if you must, please use a diffuser which spreads airstream over a wider area to help keep the natural curl pattern, and ensure your hairdryer has cool settings!

4. apply a curl-defining cream

• i do this in the morning after waking up

• it will nourish your curls and leave them looking shinier, defined and amplified!
