1) the saying “less is more” is TRUE!! I go in with the basic cleanse, exfoliate (2x a week) and moisturize. If you mix up your routine often and use more products than usual, your skin will freak out and end up getting irritated! Keep it simple and the skin will give you simple results:)

2) Whole foods. Protein bars, pre-made/frozen meals, and other snacks have things hidden in there that are banned from other countries because most ingredients in our favorite snacks aren’t meant to be put into our bodies. When it comes down to wanting clear skin, it’s not about the calories or macros, it’s all about the ingredients and the nutritional value they have in them!

-Vegetable oil

-Palm oil

-Anything you can’t pronounce, basically. If you can’t pronounce it, you body can’t digest it.

3) Probiotics. My favorite probiotic supplement is Coconut Cult Yogurt because not only does it work wonders for my gut and skin, but it’s also yummy and a fun way to get in your probiotics. When you then start to prioritize your gut health, your skin, mood, and energy will thrive!!

4) Herbal tea is crucial if you want to take healing your body down the holistic route. It helps out my gut health to the max to where my skin never acts up (if your consistent with your tea intake overall). Every morning I start with green tea to get me goin’ for the day, then an hour after dinner I have tea that is beneficial for digestion (ginger, peppermint). Favorite brand is the Yogi tea, considering how many flavors they have and their benefits.

5) Lower impact workouts. When you’re constantly doing HIIT workouts (cardio), it puts your body in a fight or flight mode, causing more stress and inflammation not only throughout your body but also your skin. The more lower impact workouts I’ve been doing, the nicer my skin has been to me:)

6) Sugar intake. Now this one is tough. Sugar is in EVERYTHING, so yes, it is hard to watch out for it. I’ve been (trying) to be sugar free since April 2024 and I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. If you are in need of something sweet, try to opt for fruit and honey or chocolate with no processed sugars in it to satisfy that sweet tooth!!

7) Bone broth! This stuff is PACKED with the best things that your body ever needs. Just 1 cup of bone broth contains 10g of protein along with huge amounts of collagen and minerals to support your skin and gut health. When I tried it for the first time, I was consistent with it for a week and was never bloated, I could digest my food easier, and my skin was GLOWING by the end of the week. Highly highly recommend.
